Having been for over three decades in the embedded systems domain and leadership in safety-critical industries, including Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, Space, Industrial, Medical, Rail, Nuclear and so on, Mr.Shinto specializes in mentoring, innovation, and tech regulation advocacy. He has built many successful organizations with high performing teams. Mr.Shinto maintains active affiliations with prominent organizations in industry, regulatory, technology, government, academia and social sectors.

Currently, he is a member at ITSSE and Defence Drones Standards committees, Directorate of Defence Standards under Ministry of Defence (MoD), Government of India.

Along with corporate and technology regulation areas, his interests also foray into exploring macroeconomics, geopolitics and psychology. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from TKM College of Engineering, Kerala, and an MBA in Marketing from School of Business & Management, CHRIST Deemed to be University Bengaluru.

His Key Achievements include: In 2000, Founded Orane Technology Pvt Ltd., a company that pioneered focusing on Embedded Systems technologies and services. In 2003, launched Embedded Illustrator, first newspaper on Embedded Technologies, registered with Indian Newspaper Society. Also launched Orane Embedded Academy, one of the first franchise training networks in India, on Embedded Systems.

In 2010, joined LDRA Technology Pvt. Ltd( part of LDRA Ltd. UK), as the first employee in India and built it over a period of 16 plus years. From 2016 to 2025 he was heading LDRA’s South East Asia and ANZ operations. After TASKING Germany’s acquisition of LDRA, he is now Director Market Development at TASKING and member of Board of Directors at LDRA India.

Demonstrated expertise with many training programs as well as moderating, presenting keynotes and numerous papers at industry bodies like CII, SIATI and professional bodies like IEEE, SAE, ISA and at prestigious industry, academic, government and social forums. Established as a prolific organizer of many international technology conferences including ESSS-Embedded Safety and Security Summit in 2014 at LDRA and CSSS-Critical Safe and Secure Systems conference at Safe and Secure Society in 2026, significantly contributing to global knowledge exchange and networking within the technological community.

In 2026 he founded Safe and Secure Society, a nonprofit organization, aimed at improving Safety and Security practices India. In 2026 he Co-Founded Aegiz Technology Pvt Ltd, a consulting firm focusing on Aerospace and Defence Certification Advisory services.

Honoured as a Distinguished Alumnus as well as for Lifetime Achievement by CHRIST University, recognizing outstanding contributions to industry, academia and society. He is also the past President of Alumni Association at School of Business & Management, CHRIST University, Bengaluru.

With over four decades of experience in aerospace engineering, software development and verification and validation, airworthiness, and safety-critical certification, Shashi Kumar has contributed to some of the aerospace industry’s most demanding engineering and certification programmes.

Throughout his career, he has focused on translating complex regulatory and safety standards into practical engineering solutions, building high-performing multidisciplinary teams, and fostering collaboration among industry stakeholders, aerospace OEMs, and regulatory authorities.

A Career Dedicated to Aerospace Engineering, Airworthiness & Certification Excellence

Co-Founder & CTO – Aegiz Technology Pvt. Ltd.: Currently leading the company’s technical direction and contributing to the development of specialised aerospace and defence certification advisory services, supporting organisations in achieving airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and certification objectives. As an active member of ITSSC and DRDO-related standards committees, his areas of engagement include military drone certification frameworks, AI/ML software assurance, software-defined sensor systems, and software reliability standards, in collaboration with defence and industry stakeholders.
Aerospace Certification & Standards Development – LDRA Technology Pvt. Ltd. (a TASKING company): Contributed to advancing certification capabilities through industry training, technical knowledge sharing, and standards development.
Leadership at Honeywell Aerospace India: As Senior Engineering Manager for Product Assurance, Airworthiness, and Certification (PAAC), he led teams responsible for software verification, validation, product assurance, and certification compliance across major commercial aerospace programmes, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Boeing 777x, and Airbus A300 upgrade programmes.
Regulatory Collaboration & Certification Leadership: Recognised as Honeywell’s first approved Software Certification Specialist outside the United States, he played a key role in strengthening certification capabilities and fostering collaboration with DGCA, CEMILAC, FAA, and EASA.
Engineering Capability Development: Led structured training initiatives that equipped more than 300 certification professionals with expertise in software, systems, airborne electronic hardware, Systems engineering and environmental qualification. He also mentored over 20 in-house software certification specialists, strengthening organisational certification capability.

Education: Masters in Software Systems, BITS Pilani; Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication Engineering; MBA-Marketing; and Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM).
Professional Certifications: INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP); Certified Software Quality Professional (CSQP).
Professional Engagement: Active contributor to INCOSE and SAE-India initiatives, with a strong commitment to engineering excellence, professional development, and mentoring.
